COVER Event at Five & Ten

7 For All Mankind Northpark Event

Embrace the brand that started it all this Thursday from 2pm-6pm at the Northpark location. Come celebrate with 7 For All Mankind as they launch their amazing unorthodox new ad campaign with multitalented hunk, James Franco. Thanks to PlanB PR and Bri Crum, attendees will be the first to preview and shop the new summer collection. I have always loved this California brand and its 'forever cool' aesthetic. This spring and summer is all about prints with a compelling assortment of florals, lace and tie dye. I absolutely love alligator clutches, especially this one by Dries Van Noten. Their Fall 2012 handbag collection consists of a mixture of strong textures and colors. This bag is the perfect go-to clutch for the coming season. It is exceptionally wearable, perfect for the modern woman.

Inspired by Balmain's spring ad, I pulled a few of my favorite white & gold pieces from their collection that is pictured below. My attention was automatically drawn to this ad, while flipping through a magazine. My fashion eye is always drawn to anything absolutely covered in embellishments and grommets, especially if it is gold. So be bold by wearing gold with head to toe white this season.

During my research trying to find the next big thing, I stumbled upon my new favorite line, Thu Thu. Thu Thu is the label of designer Thuy Duong Nguyen. Thuy, born in Vietnam, unites western style with the Far East. Each design is a blend of fabrics and handcrafted Vietnamese embroideries. Featured in style.com print magazine for fall 2012, this embroidered and patchwork biker jacket is anything but basic. Take the classic for a spin and travel to distant places and older times with Thu Thu. 

Sinclair Denim

My personal Sinclair denim collection

Sinclair, a Los Angeles based company, is hands down my favorite designer denim line. As stated on rewardstyle.com, "[Sinclair] delivers to the market a fresh approach to this centuries old iconic fabric. Incorporating incomparable fits in fabrications which are new and experimental along with innovative styling and finishing techniques". I personally love this line because of its incredible fit (which explains why I currently own four pairs). You feel as if you have nothing on when wearing a pair of Sinclair jeans. Don't shy away from adding your personal touch to these revolutionary jeans by cutting the bottoms to fray, as I did to my whitewashed flared pair. I believe that women can be causal, while still displaying their individual style. I always love to throw on a good pair of jeans and cowboy inspired booties (my weakness). This muted yellow color combines perfectly with these light-blue skinny jeans by Mother. Don't be afraid to add some surprise to the outfit with this sheer jersey tank top that contains cutouts.

Cartier Nails It

I absolutely covet Cartier and their love bracelet that was inspired by the chastity belt. The nail bracelet is sure to be Cartier's next big seller, which is going to be resurrected from their archives this spring. Created in the 1970s, this bracelet will be launched again in Cartier boutiques April 13th. Originally designed by Aldo Cipullo, this modern, yet classic, accessory is my new essential. Cartier hits the nail on the head this spring!

Spring Event Wrap-up

With a new office and a new season, the spring event couldn't have gone any better. If you missed out on the event, you definitely need to check out Mark & Estel's new "party all night collection". This new collection features an array of new styles in rich gauze fabric. Each item in this collection is also partially named after a different famous rocker. As Mark & Estel beautifully stated, "gauze is the sexiest textile of the season, it has a soft hand and a luxurous feel on the body".

Jessica Simpson Teams Up With Mark & Estel

Jessica Simpson, expecting mother and Fashion Star mentor, was spotted wearing Mark & Estel's striped swing gown. With a hectic schedule for two appearances in one day, it is no wonder Jess chose their relaxed striped dress. Doesn't she look effortlessly gorgeous heading to both Ellen and Jay Leno?

I loved this Stella McCartney jumpsuit so much, I couldn't decide on which color I liked best. For day, I chose this hot pink color and paired it with neutral heels and a cork clutch. However, for night, you can't go wrong with black! Be daring and pair this midnight-hued jumpsuit with a color-blocked, tasseled gilet. Don't stop there; add Christian Louboutin cut out paten heels to top off your look!

These sky-high heels by Jimmy Choo certainly caught my eye while flipping through the latest Bazaar magazine at the nail salon. Ankle straps are HOT this season, and so is this bright orange color (which happens to be my favorite). Trade in your nude heels and add a pop-of-color to your feet this season!

Sometimes less is more, especially when wearing these Pierre Hardy caged heels! I love the earthy tones of the intertwined orange, brown and navy blue leather straps. Keep it simple, and wear these heels with a minimalist asymmetric dress. This combo is a sure winner for any occasion! 

Cool, Calm, & Relaxed

This outfit is perfect for a casual afternoon at the mall, a movie matinee, or a picnic with the one you love. This “Baja” jacket by Proenza Schouler makes a comeback for Cruise 2012. This cotton poncho, of grayscale color blocking, exudes a sense of cool. What better match than to pair this jacket with flared denim and braided platform sandals? 

The most buzzed about stiletto

It seems like almost EVERYONE is obsessed with the stilettos Charlize Theron wore at the Golden Globes, including me. This Givenchy sexy stiletto with metal hardware detail and silver spiked heel cannot be found online, but I just HAD to include it. I love this simple, yet chic, billowy silhouette paired with an orange woven belt. We can all dream we had these shoes to match!

Sterling silver metallic finishes add the perfect touch of elegance to any outfit. My personal favorite, and absolutely necessary, accessory to any look is a hint of color on your nails. Silver is the go to color for adornments this spring, so go ahead and add some glimmer to your everyday look! 

Emerald Green + Kitten Heels

As everyone knows, Isabel Marant is one of my all time favorite designers! I absolutely ADORE this shirtdress paired with Burberry yellow embellished kitten heels. Kitten heels are back on trend, just in time to give our feet a rest from sky-high platforms. What a better final touch than this Marni clutch?

I am OBSESSED over this kelly-green leather skirt. This skirt has two elements of surprise, not only its color, but also the back zipper detail. The main trend this spring is pairing subdued neutrals with vibrant color, which is why I paired this bold skirt with a neutral knit poncho. Orange is my favorite color, so I of course had to include a great “POC” below!

NYC Trend Watch

Last week during my stay in the Big Apple, I was able to attend some fashion shows and these are the trends of things to come for the New Year:


1. BOXY JACKET: To be worn with a fitted bottom (shorts or skinny jeans), a soft underpinning, and a chunky utilitarian shoe.

2. PLEATED SKIRT: Wear with a silk, flowy blouse, or a thin cashmere cardigan with soft sleeveless underpinning. Also add a feminine handbag, statement earrings, and a great d’Orsay pump.

3. PEPLUM TOP: A very classic 50’s silhouette that goes great with a straight slim skirt, or a cropped pant. For finishing touches, add chunky heels, or a strappy, heavy pump.

4. MAXI SKIRT: One of my favorites!!! Can be worn with a great denim button down, or a biker jacket with a slinky wife beater underneath. Buckle an oversized belt at your waist, and sling a cross-body bohemian bag over your shoulders. A gladiator sandal is the perfect finale to this ensemble!

You can never go wrong with animal print! Leopard print is an everlasting favorite in the fashion world, and mine. Pair this Yves Sain Laurent bold, silk-satin dress with sassy Versace heels. Don’t settle for one striking piece; let your whole look do the talking. Nothing growls louder than this pairing! Want to subdue your look for the daytime? Add a lightweight scarf, which can also be tied to your handbag for the nighttime.
